So, it actually came true! Both Katrine and I have applied for a years leave, and we got it approved!

So from July 15th we are going to travel around Europe for a whole year! Of course it is all a bit uncertain because of the times, we live in. Corona has made a lot of people cautious when planning forward, but Katrine and I have chosen to be positive and believe that come July, the borders of Europe will be open again. (Read: Jakob is pretty relaxed, and Katrine is freaking out.)

We are, of course, a little bit nervous about the whole thing, but if everything goes wrong, we will just start in Denmark and wait for the borders to open.

The plan is to start out in Norway and Sweden for 5-6 weeks, and then we will begin driving south – following the warm weather. And if the weather is bad in the Nordic countries, we will just begin moving south sooner – that is what vanlife is all about – home is where you park it 🙂 

During the winter season we hope to manage a ski hotel in the Austrian alps. We are in contact with some companies, but nothing is set yet – so please feel free to send us in the right direktion if you know someone, who knows someone 😉

After the winter season we will resume the roadtrip and take a look at some of the more southern parts of Europe before heading back to Denmark in July 2021.

We are so much looking forward to this – spending time together as a family – well, that is also what we are doing right now, but at the same time we have to work. So that will be a major difference, when we set off.

We are aiming for various mountainbike areas, ideas are more than welcome! 

We want to check out different places, meet new wonderful people and when we are done, post a bit about how it is to ride there as a family. Are the kids entertained? How camper van friendly is it? And so on… We are working on a way to do this. See “When Corona Hits” for our first draw.

But for now we are practicing being together in these Corona-times, and we are also practicing being active on both this site and Instagram. Feel free to give us advise in terms of making this site more relevant, user friendly ect..

For the time being we are in lockdown in a summerhouse near Ebeltoft, so we keep riding our bikes at the local trail, work (our real jobs) and work on this project.

Sofie and Lærke are especially approving the swimmingpool…
